I’m giving you a present…

Is it just me, or is Christmas shopping a bit of a pain? I mean, you buy something gorgeous, spend ages wrapping it and then… Well, then you have to go and give it away.

I’ve browsed the internet for most of my present purchases this year, in the failed hope that it will bestow me with some kind of restraint and stop me buying myself a treat every time I buy something for someone else. I couldn’t be more wrong. Every time I’ve gone online, I’ve seen something that I want for myself. I’m a terrible giver.

Which is why it’s so surprising that I’m now giving you a present. Yes you.

Bombay Duck is a stunning website specialising in gifts and accessories for the home. It’s right up my street, with vintage style pieces and quirky one-off presents. I love it.

So I hope you know how hard it is for me to part with this little beauty…

Hotch Potch Three Tier Vintage Cake Stand

The Hotch Potch Three Tier Vintage Cake Stand from Bombay Duck is gorgeously pretty. I rather think it could make even my own dismal cake offerings look half edible. It costs Β£35 if you were to buy it – and I’m giving it to one of you absolutely free.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment. It really is that simple. The competition closes one week from today (20th December) and I’ll announce the winner on my Facebook page.

If you don’t want to wait that long, you can always go and treat yourself. The discount code MAR20 will get you 15% off until 15th December.

And while you’re there, I rather fancy one of their lovely lanterns. *hint hint*

The small print: Competition closes Tuesday 20th December. Open to UK residents only.

I love Bombay Duck and over the years I have made several purchases. Do not add my name to the hat, as gorgeous as the cake stand is I have already got 3 and no room for any more!! A wonderful thought though very generous for a ‘terrible giver’ your words not mine. Have a good Christmas Jane xx

  23. I would love to win that cake stand as I wouldn’t be allowed to buy such a thing for myself!
But even if I don’t win, I enjoyed reading your post. I understand that it’s sometimes hard to give nice things away, and often easier to find presents for oneself than for others. πŸ˜‰

Wow, it’s beautiful! Reminds me so much of one my grandmother owned, wonder what happened to it………….. Cakes are a rare treat in our house as I have coeliac disease but it would be well worth the effort of making some gluten free cupcakes just to use the stand!!

  26. This is just Beautiful, and something I could never afford myself. It’s also something I really want, I’ve bought a disposable cake stand for xmas as I can’t afford a real one but if I had one it would be used all year round. There is nothing like afternoon tea, and nothing says afternoon tea like a 3 teired cake stand!! Little tuna and cucumber sandwiches and cheese and tomato sandwiches on the bottom, Scones with jam and cream in the middle and little swiss roles and french fancies on top, all offset with a pot of tea with little teacups with saucers.

ok, does it show that today is not the first time i’ve thought about this?
